Brighton bus stop reconstruction
We’re reconstructing three bus stops to improve road infrastructure and accessibility to public transport.
- 15 Male Street – bus stop near Church Street.
- 52 Male Street – bus stop near Wilson Street.
- 14 St Andrews Street – bus stop near Church Street.
What's happening
- Reconstruction of the road, kerb and channel in front of the three bus stops.
Timing
Works at the bus stop at 52 Male Street will take place in early December 2024 and will take up to 2 weeks, weather permitting. These works will take place between 7am and 5pm.
Works at the bus stops at 15 Male Street and 14 St Andrews Street are scheduled to commence in early January 2025 and will take up to two weeks, weather permitting. The works will take place between 7am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
We have scheduled these works after the busy holiday trading period and during school holidays to minimise disruption to the community.
What to expect during the works
Temporary traffic management and parking restrictions will be in place within the works area to ensure the safety of workers and community members.
- There will some restrictions to vehicle access to businesses and apartments. We will notify impacted properties directly.
- Pedestrian access to all businesses and residences will be maintained.
- Traffic controllers will be in place to manage traffic flow.
- There will be noise and dust associated with the works.
Project cost
Council is investing approximately $100,000 in this project.
