Sharps and needles disposal

Council provides free sharps containers and disposal services to Bayside residents.

You can collect and dispose of your sharps containers at the Customer Service counter at Bayside City Council Corporate Centre, 76 Royal Avenue Sandringham.

What we accept

  • Sharps and needles securely sealed in an appropriate container. Our Customer Service team will decline any sharps and needles not safely contained.

What we will not accept

  • We will not accept damaged or exposed containers and needles.
  • Disposal from businesses. Businesses must arrange their sharps disposal with a private collection company.

If you find exposed needles or sharps on public land please report this to Council.

If you have any questions please contact the Environmental Health Unit on 9599 4417 or envhealth@bayside.vic.gov.au.
