We’ve turned the page and completed our library upgrades chapter.
Today, Hampton Library has thrown open the doors on its fresh, contemporary makeover.
Inside you will find more floor space and accessible, wheelable shelving that is easy to adapt to a variety of community needs.
Your returns can now be processed immediately, thanks to our new smart returns chute, so you can get straight to browsing and borrowing again.
Hampton Library will initially be open for its usual staffed trading hours, before piloting extended unstaffed trading hours, expected to launch late 2022.

Hampton Library is currently open:
Monday: 10am – 6pm
Tuesday: 10am – 6pm
Wednesday: Closed
Thursday: 10am – 6pm
Friday: 10am – 6pm
Saturday: 10am – 1pm
Sunday: Closed
We received two grants - a $92.5K Library COVID Recovery Project grant and $90K from a Living Libraries grant – to do the upgrades across our branches. Council matched the $182.5K Victorian Government grants to complete the works.
