Bayside crews continue storm clean-up
Last week’s wild winds caused damage and debris across large swathes of Melbourne, including Bayside.
We are still receiving calls about downed tree limbs and branches scattered across our parks and open spaces.
Residents can be assured the clean-up is continuing and our crews are assessing the damage and responding to more urgent needs first.
Branches and trees deemed to be posing a risk to the public are being dealt with first and branches already down will be picked up in coming days.
Some people have been collecting branches that were strewn across public areas in the storm but it’s best to leave them and allow our crews to clean up.
If you are concerned about tree branches and storm debris, please report via our online form, giving the address of the land where the clean-up is required.
Residents who have been cleaning up their own property can bundle tree debris for a hard rubbish collection.
Pruning’s and branches should be less than 150mm in diameter, 1.8m in length and securely tied in bundles of up to 300mm diameter.
Properties can make 2 hard waste bookings per year and bookings must be made at least 6 weeks apart.
Logs or branches greater than 150mm in diameter and 1.8m in length can be taken to the Bayside Waste and Recycling Centre in Talinga Road, Sandringham.
