Shipston Reserve upgrade

Shipston Reserve sportsground

We’re making some upgrades at Shipston Reserve to improve accessibility, player safety and spectator comfort.

The Victorian Government has funded this project, with Bayside Council delivering the improvements.

Key features

  • Cricket wicket realignment
  • Remove carpet tiles and replace with Regupol flooring in 4 changerooms 
  • Granitic sand path from storage cage to grounds (including inside of cage)
  • Bollards at western end of carpark 
  • Handrails on main steps down to the ground 
  • Timber seating installed on front row of tiered space 
  • Accessible carpark and ramp. 

Timing

Works will be delivered in stages between January – June 2024.

  • The cricket wicket was realigned in early 2024. 
  • Accessibility upgrades will be delivered in May - June 2024.

What to expect during works

These minor works are expected to cause minimal disruption to local residents and sports ground users.
