Bayside is committed to empowering women and girls to embrace an active lifestyle. The Fair Access Policy and Fair Access Action Plan at Bayside has been endorsed to eliminate disparities and ensure that all women and girls have the opportunity to engage in sports and physical activity. 

Bayside is passionate about supporting women and girls in finding joy and confidence through physical movement. This Girl Can Week in Bayside from November 10 to November 17, 2024, offers a variety of options for you to explore below.

    3. FS8 Highett

    Offer: We are excited to offer Bayside residents an amazing intro offer of 5 Classes for $45, to be used from the 10th to 17th of November. 

    Where: Our studio is located at 24 Advantage Rd Highett, just off Bay Rd.

    FS8 Pilates is a new concept in wellness that combines reformer Pilates, mat Pilates, tone and yoga into a 50 minute low impact and high energy group workout class. Developed for everybody, FS8 pilates helps build strength, flexibility and tone. With the variety of exercises at FS8 you'll never get bored, and the low impact style of training allows for all fitness levels to participate.

    All equipment is provided within the studio. You only need to bring along a water bottle and towel, wearing whatever makes you feel comfortable to exercise in. We run daily classes with a wide range of times listed below:

    Monday - Friday 
    6am, 7am, 9:30am, 12:15pm, 5:15pm & 6:15pm (excluding Fridays)

    Saturday 
    7am, 8am & 9am

    Sunday
    7:30am, 8:30am & 9:30am

    Our classes focus on general fitness, and we want to ensure all clients have the safest and most supportive experience possible. Although we are able to modify exercises to accommodate for minor injuries or discomfort, we are unable to provide one on one attention and guidance for those with disabilities or body limitations

    As part of the Bayside Girls Can movement, we invite you to experience a day dedicated to empowering women through strength & movement, women’s health education, and community. Whether you’re new to lifting or looking to boost your health and fitness, this is the perfect opportunity to discover an untapped part of you!

    What to Expect:
    - Introduction to Strength: Discover why strength training is the most important form of exercise for women’s health and fitness.
    - See Lifting in action: Watch beginner, intermediate, and advanced lifters demonstrate their techniques and discover the level that is best for you.
    - Fun Workout (optional): A short, engaging session designed for all fitness levels. Come and get a hit of endorphins, release some stress, and have some laughs.
    - Free Coffee Van: Because it just wouldn’t be a proper event without a coffee van! Grab a coffee on us and connect with like-minded women.
    - Q&A Session: Ask our expert trainers anything about strength training, women's health, and more!

  2. Beaumaris Bowls Club

    Join Us at Beaumaris Bowls Club for these free events! 

    • Event Details: Bowls and Bubbles
      Date: Wednesday 13 November
      Time: 7:00pm to 9:00pm
      Location: Beaumaris Bowls Club, Martin Street, Beaumaris 
      More details: Come alone and meet other women or bring some female friends for fun on the green. Wear comfortable clothes for the relaxed environment, flat soled shoes preferred. Drinks, finger food, coaching and equipment all provided. 

       

    • Event Details: Time Out for Me
      Date: Friday 15 November
      Time: 10:30am - 12:30pm
      Location: Beaumaris Bowls Club, Martin Street, Beaumaris 
      More details: Time for women to enjoy some “me” time while trying some gentle, fun exercise and learning to play Bowls. Bring some friends, come alone, meet other local women. Wear comfortable clothes for the relaxed environment, flat soled shoes preferred. Morning tea and a cuppa will be provided with some gentle, fun exercise giving bowls a go. All equipment and coaching provided.

  1. Victorian Skateboard Association

    The All Aboard Skateboarding Session for Women & Girls is free learn to skateboard workshops with skateboards and safety equipment provided. Delivered by expert skateboarding coaches, the sessions are for beginner and intermediate skaters who are just starting or keen to develop new skills. All are welcome!

    Please wear enclosed shoes and bring a helmet (bike helmet is fine) and pads if you have them. If not, we have plenty onsite.

  1. BMP Health - Mini Movers Training Program
     

    Free for girls 9 to 14 of age all of November. 

    Register via this form to be part of Mini Movers.

    Give your child a strong start with our BPM Mini Movers Program – designed to help kids discover the fun of fitness! Our program focuses on teaching kids how to lift weights safely, play games that build agility, and create positive habits early on. More than just a workout, it’s a chance for your child to develop confidence, coordination, and a love for staying active in a supportive, upbeat environment 

    PROGRAM DETAILS: 

    âś” For children aged between 9-14 years 

    âś” Learn how to lift weights, play games and have fun - all while getting in a workout! 

    âś” 45 min sessions, running Monday - Thursday between 4:15-5:00pm
