  • Meaningful Connections

    Become a Volunteer Community Visitor and bring joy to the life of an older person who is struggling.Meet some of our special friends . .Nancy* lives in an aged care facility in Bentleigh East. She is chatty and engaging and enjoys talking about a range of topics including history, current affairs and politics. She loves music and playing the piano.  

  • Meaningful Connections - Bentleigh East

    Three very special ladies in your community are currently lonely and isolated. Become a Volunteer Community Visitor and bring a sense of companionship and joy to them.As a Volunteer Community Visitor at Better Health Network (BHN), you will be part of the Meaningful Connections Program - a team of dedicated, engaged and passionate volunteers who make positive impact on the lives of the people they visit. 

  • Social Support Program Volunteers - Black Rock Activity Centre

    Do you enjoy chatting with and assisting older people? We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to assist with Bayside Council’s Social Support Program. 

  • Community Visitor - Brighton

    Do you speak Polish? We’re looking for a very special Polish speaking person to become a Volunteer Community Visitor to Hanna* to help ease her loneliness.Hanna* is living in an aged care facility in Brighton and would greatly benefit from a regular visitor. She would love someone to chat to and share stories with.

  • Community Visitor

    We are seeking a special person to bring joy to the lives of three people living with dementia. Become a Volunteer Community Visitor and make a real difference.Almost 500,000 Australians are now living with dementia. Better Health Network (BHN) supports older people experiencing social isolation and loneliness through the Meaningful Connections Program. Volunteers are matched with older people living in aged care facilities, for the purpose of providing meaningful social connection and companionship. 

  • Cooking Connections Volunteer

    Cooking Connections is a meal sharing program that introduces people who like to cook and connect with others to older isolated diners in our community. Volunteer cooks deliver a serving of their regular home-cooked meal and enjoy a short chat with their diner.Deliveries can be weekly, fortnightly or even monthly – whatever works best for you and your diner.For older residents, receiving a home-cooked meal and having a conversation with a volunteer can create connection, ease feelings of isolation and have a positive impact on mental health.

  • Volunteer Sailor/Deckhand

    What we Do: The 27-metre topsail schooner *Enterprize* is a replica 19th century tall ship whose mission is to provide all Victorians with the opportunity to experience life on board a 19th-century sailing ship. Based in the Docklands, weekdays see *Enterprize* play host to Victorian schoolchildren for everything from two-hour history and sail sessions to multi-day sail training excursions, while weekends are spent conducting 1-to-2 hour long sails out of Williamstown, Geelong, and Portarlington for members of the public.

  • Mentors of Youth Scout leadership

    Are you ready to make a difference and become a hero? 5th Sandringham Scout group is looking for leaders of their Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, and Venturers as well as our neurodiverse group, Advantage Scouts.You don’t need to have ever pitched a tent in your life, or even to have gone on a hike! This volunteering opportunity is all about teaching and learning with the kids!Our youth sections complete many activities from cooking to craft, making fires, swimming, and outdoor adventures, to name a few.

  • Caring Mums Volunteer

    Our volunteers are trained to provide confidential, non-judgmental emotional support and reassurance to women, whether they are first time mothers or already have children. Volunteers will provide: - Companionship and be a sounding board to their Mum; - Ride the ups and downs of motherhood with their Mum; - Help mums to access their local resources
