Victorian election 2022 - advocating on the issues that matter to Bayside

The Victorian election is now just two months away. We are calling on all parties and candidates to commit to acting on the issues and priorities that matter to Bayside.

Council is committed to working with our community's elected representatives to achieve the aspirations of our community as articulated in the Bayside 2050 Community Vision and 2021-25 Council Plan as outlined by Bayside Mayor, Cr Alex del Porto in our video.

We want to work with Bayside’s elected state representatives to achieve strong outcomes for our community.

In the lead up to the 2022 Victorian election we are calling for funding for important projects, service enhancements and policy innovation to help the Bayside community. These are:

  • Funding for Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve, a Warm Water Pool, gender neutral sports pavilions and local connections to the Dingley Recycled Water Scheme pipeline
  • Service improvements for bus transport across Bayside and specifically in Beaumaris and Black Rock and the removal of Highett and Wickham Roads level crossings
  • Policy innovation including a new Minister for the Bay and strong engagement on the Suburban Rail Loop.

Our community needs all levels of government to work together to achieve these and the other aspirations of our Bayside 2050 Community Vision and 2021-2025 Council Plan. These articulate important issues and projects that Council cannot deliver alone
