Community satisfaction survey 2024 results released

Results from this year’s satisfaction survey revealed that Council’s overall performance remains at a "good" level of satisfaction, with residents surveyed giving an average rating of 7 out of 10.

Residents told us they feel welcome, included, and respected when accessing our services and facilities, and satisfaction with Council services was rated as "very good" overall.

These results help us better understand how our community perceives us, measure satisfaction with Council's leadership and delivery of services and facilities and identify issues of concern.

The Glen Eira Bayside Police Service area has provided a comment on safety in Bayside.

"Victoria Police understands the concerns of the Bayside community, and that is why we have dedicated resources tasked to the area every day and night.

"Since March 2023, police have a dedicated operation targeting burglars and car thieves as part of Operation Trinity.

"This includes an additional 70 police officers – including the Dog Squad, Public Order Response and Air Wing – are rostered each night on top of existing patrols.

"As a result of this intense focus, police have made over 1,400 arrests relating to burglaries and car thefts in the past twelve months.

"Every day, Protective Services Officers (PSOs) patrol metropolitan train stations and key regional transport hubs including in the Glen Eira Bayside area.

"There are more than 1200 PSOs employed for this purpose. In addition, Transit police officers patrol the network and conduct regular public safety operations to ensure a highly visible presence to keep the transport network safe.

"Local police will consider the findings of the survey and further implement strategies to not only ensure residents are safe, but also feel safe. We are always looking at ways to improve, and identify and respond to issues that the community raises.

"We thank the community for their contribution to strengthening local safety."

About the survey

The community satisfaction survey is conducted each year by an independent company Metropolis Research. Approximately 700 randomly selected households each year participate in the survey, which is conducted face-to-face.

The survey is just one of the ways that we measure our performance and the community's satisfaction with the services, facilities, and leadership that Council provides.
