Teens’ immunisation catch-up

Has your teenager missed an important vaccination?

Missed doses of HPV, Boostrix, and Meningococcal can be caught up at one of our catch-up sessions, or our regular community immunisation sessions.

Young people who missed the vaccinations at school can attend the next catch-up sessions over the school holidays:

  • Saturday 23 December: Bayside City Council, Sandringham.
  • Wednesday 3 January: Beaumaris Community Centre, Sandringham.
  • Tuesday 9 January: William Street Pavillion, Brighton.
  • Friday 12 January: A. W. Oliver Pavillion, Hampton East.
  • Monday 15 January: Bayside City Council, Sandringham.
  • Saturday 27 January: Bayside City Council, Sandringham.

Students in Year 7 (or age equivalent) receive Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine (Boostrix) and Human papillomavirus vaccine (HPV).

Students in Year 10 get vaccinated against Meningococcal. This vaccine provides protection against four strains of meningococcal disease (ACWY) and is given as a single dose.

Have you or your child missed out on the HPV vaccine? Catch up for free and protect your health

The HPV vaccine protects against nine types of HPV that cause almost all cases of cervical cancer, other HPV-related cancers and genital warts.

Australians aged 12 to 25 can receive the HPV vaccine for free through the National Immunisation Program. If you or your child are 25 and under and missed out on the HPV vaccine, you can schedule a free catch-up dose through your doctor, our immunisation service or some pharmacies.
