Puppy love through discounted registration

Good news for Bayside pups – you can now register your puppy at the same rate as a desexed dog.

Under the Domestic Animals Act, all dogs and cats must be registered with Council at three months of age. However, many dog owners choose to wait a little longer before desexing their puppy.

The standard annual fee of $84.39 now applies to all dogs under eight months of age, regardless of whether they are desexed. This discounted fee will apply for the first registration. To continue receiving this rate, all you need to do is update your animal registration once your dog has been desexed.

This initiative, as part of our Domestic Animal Management Plan, aims to encourage early registration of young dogs. Registration and microchipping are Victorian Government requirements that help us reunite you with your lost dog as quickly as possible.

Registration also funds pet-related education and programs, and pet-friendly parks and facilities – including supplying almost two million poo bags each year in dispensers across Bayside.
