Planting Trees for The Queen's Jubilee
Council was recently awarded funding as part of the Planting Trees for the Queen’s Jubilee grant program. The program supports community-based tree planting events across Australia in commemoration of the Platinum Jubilee of the late Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Mayor Cr Alex Del Porto recently planted the first of many trees in Royal Avenue Reserve in honour of the late Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II and her 70 years of service. This also supports our commitment to planting more than 2,200 trees a year on Council land to increase tree canopy and create a cooler, greener and more wildlife-friendly Bayside.
