Overdue rates – hardship plans are available

Council’s Financial Hardship Policy provides a number of options for ratepayers who are in genuine financial hardship to help manage their rates liability.

The options available to ratepayers include

  • Agreeing to a payment plan that meets your needs
  • Short term and long term deferral of rates.

If you are facing financial hardship, please contact our Revenue Services Team to discuss your payment options including the deferral of rates.

Rates make up 63% of Council’s income and help us provide over 100 high-quality services for our community. These range from maternal and child health, kindergarten and youth services, libraries, immunisations, aged care services, maintaining our wonderful open spaces, parks, reserves and tree lined streets as well as other valuable services and facilities.
