Our plans, your priorities

What's most important for council to deliver in the next four years?

We need to understand the community’s priorities, needs and aspirations to create the strategic long-term plans that will shape Bayside.

In October this year, Bayside will have a new council following the local government elections. The new council's first job will be to develop a Council Plan 2025 - 2029.

The Council Plan matters. It sets the priorities for the next four years, outlining the infrastructure, upgrades, support and programs we'll provide for the community – and moves us closer to realising the Bayside 2050 Community Vision. It clarifies where we need to lobby or partner with others on things important to you but not in our control.

The Council Plan is just one of the strategic plans renewed each council term. We're also reviewing other strategic plans like the Financial, Asset, and Health and Wellbeing plans. These plans ensure that we're making the most of the funds collected through your rates, taking care of Bayside assets from roads, drains and footpaths to buildings and open space, and providing our community with the support and services they need.

These plans will all be developed and shaped by community feedback. Our first phase of community consultation is open until 4 August 2024.
