Hampton Pier rebuild update
The much anticipated rebuild of Hampton Pier is taking shape
Parks Victoria has released a new plan prioritising the rebuild of Hampton Pier following technical studies, the development of detailed designs and engagement with community stakeholders including Bayside City Council.
As the local Port Manager for Port Phillip Bay, Parks Victoria is leading the Hampton Pier redevelopment and is now seeking a suitable contractor to undertake the works, with construction expected to commence in early 2025.
The Sandringham Harbour Local Port Area Plan draws from the site’s past, as well as ideas and aspirations generated from community feedback
The new Hampton Pier design reflects community and stakeholder aspirations collected as part of the Sandringham Harbour Local Port Area Plan. The design remains highly functional to ensure it continues to support local boating and recreational activities.
Construction is expected to start in early 2025 and finish in Spring 2025, subject to procurement outcomes, market conditions, and statutory permits and approvals. An exclusion zone will be in place during construction to ensure community safety.
