Ever wondered where the compost created by Bayside's food and green waste ends up?
Bayside - there’s 2 weeks to go until the bin collection switch.
From Monday 4 July 2022, we’re making the switch to:
- emptying food and green waste bins weekly
- emptying general waste bins fortnightly.
Bayside’s food and green waste is collected and taken to Sacyr Environment Australia’s organics processing facility located in Dandenong South.
Sacyr are ready for the switch and have plenty of capacity to accept more food and green waste from the Bayside community to turn into high-quality compost.
The compost has a range of uses, including as a soil conditioner to grow our fruits and veggies, and for landscape and garden use.
