Be prepared for thunderstorm asthma season

Spring is well underway, which means we need to be prepared for thunderstorm asthma season.

Victoria’s world-leading Epidemic Thunderstorm Asthma Risk Forecast System is active now until 31 December. You can access it daily on the VicEmergency app or website, and can set up a watch zone to receive advice and warnings for your area.

It's recommended that you:

  • Check daily forecasts on VicEmergency app or website
  • Look for low, moderate, or high-risk alerts
  • On high-risk days, stay indoors and close windows.

If you have asthma or hay fever, don’t forget to take any prescribed medication as directed. Develop or follow your asthma action plan and use asthma first aid if you experience symptoms.
