Amended times for Chisholm Reserve’s Lights on for Dogs program

Community junior sport matches are scheduled at RG Chisholm Reserve in Sandringham with club access provided from 5pm to 9pm on Friday, 19 July and Friday, 9 August. The lights will be on for the sports club; however, dogs are not permitted on the sportsground during both scheduled evening sports sessions.

The winter lighting program is a continued action of the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2022-26. It runs until Friday, 30 August, and is helping to provide Bayside dogs (and their owners) with dedicated access to some dog off-leash sportsgrounds every Monday, and most Fridays throughout winter when not being used by sport:

  • RJ Sillitoe Reserve, Hampton on Mondays, 5pm – 8pm (enter via Lawson Street)
  • RG Chisholm Reserve, Sandringham on Fridays, 5pm – 8pm, except 19 July and Friday 9 August

Please be responsible and respectful when exercising your dog and help to maintain the turf for community sports using these grounds.

  • Always maintain effective control.
  • Scoop the poop (and bin it)!
  • Don’t let your dog dig (holes are dangerous for people and pets).
  • Ask permission before approaching people or dogs.
  • Never let your dog run at or jump on others.
  • Put your dog back on leash if you need to.
