Brighton Historical Society - Treasurer
Brighton Historical Society (BHS) is a is a not-for-profit incorporated volunteer organisation and was founded in 1963. BHS collects, preserves and exhibits items and information connected to the history and heritage of Brighton, Victoria.
BHS currently has a membership of over 200 and is open Monday and Thursday 12 midday to 4.00 pm.
BHS welcomes new members and anyone who would like to contribute to the management and development of the Society.
Membership of the BHS is open to all. Anyone with an interest in history is welcome to join.
Key Function of Treasurer:
Manage, record and report on income and expenditure, cash flow, bank accounts and advise on the Society’s budgetary processes and finances.
Key Responsibilities:
• Record all moneys paid to or received by BHS using the Intuit Quickbooks software
• Reconcile the bank accounts each month
• Pay any invoices authorised by the Committee
• Ensure that the financial records of the Society are kept in accordance with the Act
• Produce and table a monthly Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss report from the Intuit Quickbooks software at the monthly Committee meetings
