Brighton Historical Society - Secretary

Brighton Historical Society (BHS) is a is a not-for-profit incorporated volunteer organisation and was founded in 1963. BHS collects, preserves and exhibits items and information connected to the history and heritage of Brighton, Victoria.

BHS currently has a membership of over 200 and is open Monday and Thursday 12 midday to 4.00 pm.

BHS welcomes new members and anyone who would like to contribute to the management and development of the Society.

Key Function of the Secretary:
To oversee the administration activities of BHS

Key Responsibilities:
• Maintaining membership register and membership renewal process
• Assist the President and Treasurer as required with various activities e.g. prepare Grant applications
• Attendance at the monthly Committee meetings.
• Committee meeting minutes
• Public Officer with Consumer Affairs Victoria, keep ATO and ACNC records up to date
• Monitor emails and respond to enquiries from members or the public
