Seniors Festival Heathland Sanctuary Wildflower Wander

Bay Road Heathland Sanctuary is the nearest heathland to the Melbourne CBD and the largest in Bayside. Sheltered by trees, it is maintained so that people can enjoy the peace and wide variety of plants and animals.

Senior Festival particpants are invited to join our knowledgeable volunteers on Sunday 13th October from 2pm-4pm for guided tours into one of Bayside's best biodiverse sites — teeming with native plants and native birds.

Nature lovers can walk through remnant bushland and get a closer look at indigenous plants as they flower in spring.

No need to register; turn up and join in. Tours run every 15 minutes during the session time, based on demand and guide availability, and last for approximately half an hour.

Bay Road Heath Sanctuary is a bush land reserve, the path is unsealed and at times, narrow, it is not suitable for people with mobility issues and appropriate footwear must be worn.
