Pompey Elliott and World War I with Ross McMullin
To commemorate Remembrance Day, we have invited Ross McMullin to come to Brighton to discuss his book "Pompey Elliott", a comprehensive and award-winning biography of Australia's most famous fighting general in World War I.
A charismatic, controversial, and outstandingly successful commander, Pompey Elliott was an accomplished tactician who was exceptionally brave and renowned for never sending anyone anywhere he was not prepared to go himself.
Ross is an award-winning historian and biographer, a renowned storyteller and author of "Farewell, Dear People", which was awarded the Prime Minister's Prize for Australian History, and "Life So Full of Promise", which won The Age Book of the Year Award for non-fiction this year.
