Winter Solstice Party
It’s time to shine bright at our Winter Solstice Party, celebrating the longest night of the year!
Join us for an epic celebration featuring UV lighting and a live DJ spinning beats to keep you dancing the night away, as well as free snacks and drinks. Bring your crew or come solo and make new friends.
Get set to dance, laugh, and make memories to last a lifetime at the coolest event of the season. Limited tickets available, so don’t miss out!
- When: Friday 21 June, 6:00pm – 9:00pm.
- Where: Peterson Youth Centre, Highett - see map
- Who: Open to young people aged 13 to 18, who have a connection to Bayside (live, work, school, study)
- Cost: $5. Book your ticket below.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased prior to the event. No pass outs.
The Winter Solstice Party will be fully supervised by our friendly Bayside Youth Services team. It was designed and will be delivered by young volunteers in the FReeZA Committee – Boombox Events.
FReeZA is part of a Victorian Government initiative to support young people to get involved in their community by planning and delivering drug, smoke, alcohol and vape free music and cultural events.

What should I wear? What should I bring?
This is a UV dance party; we suggest wearing white or neon. There will be a prize for the person most committed to the UV/neon/white theme!
Food, drinks, and fun will be provided. If you have medication you need, please keep it on you.

Peterson Youth Centre, Cnr of Peterson St and Highett Rd, Highett – see map
If you are travelling by car, there is ample free parking.
If you are taking public transport:
- 1.5km from Highett Train Station on the Frankston line.
- 2.3km from Sandringham Train Station on the Sandringham line
- Nearby bus routes include the 828, 825 and 708.
What food and drinks will be available?
The FReeZA committee have decided to provide the following snacks for free!
- Sausage sizzle
- Fairy floss
- Water
- Canned drinks
Please indicate any dietary requirements in the form below and make yourself known to the door staff upon entry.
Filming and video notice
This event will include a photobooth, a professional photographer, and our FReeZA committee will be taking videos of the event. Some images and videos will be made available on our social media and used for future promotions. If you are not comfortable having your image captured, please let the photographer/videographer/photobooth operator know, and they will make sure you are not the subject of photographs/videos.

This event has been designed and will be run by young volunteers aged 12 to 25 in the Bayside FReeZA committee – BOOMbox Events.

Bayside City Council is offering young performers aged 12 – 25, a platform to do their thing at our youth events and community gigs.
Beginner/intermediate/pro, dancer, singer, guitarist, rap group, magician, poi, fire twirler, lyrical or comical genius? Whatever it is that you do and at whatever skill level, we want you to do your thing and if you would love the world to see (or at least the local community!), then register now!
