Bayside Carers Corner
All unpaid carers who live in the City of Bayside are welcome to join us at Bayside Carers Corner.
Come along to hear our interesting guest speakers, enjoy a cuppa and meet others with similar experiences.
Sessions are held fortnightly from 10:00 – 11:30 am at Peterson Youth Centre, corner Peterson St and Highett Rd, Highett unless otherwise stated.

Rudi Doohan – Positive Ageing Librarian
Have you ever needed some equipment for a one-off home project or wanted to try an item before you buy it? Discover the new and exciting collection of home appliances, electronics, and tools in the newest initiative at Bayside Libraries – “the library of things”. Hear from the Positive Ageing Librarian about this new service, along with details about the home library service which gives you access to Bayside’s resources at home.

Winter Warmer Morning Tea
Time for a break to enjoy morning tea as a group, come along for a warm drink and some delicious treats whilst chatting with other care givers in your community.

Carers Victoria education session
Come along to hear from Carers Victoria’s education team about how carers can:
Develop skills to support their caring role
Gain knowledge to navigate complex support service systems
Enhance health and wellbeing

Alfred Health – Dementia session “creative care at home”
Judy Allen from Alfred Health will return to deliver a session discussing ways to provide creative care at home. This will provide carers with practical tips on supporting loved ones in their own home whilst also looking after yourself.
Wednesday 11th September
Birds and bush treasures of the bay
Meet us at Ricketts Point to take part in a bush treasure hunt, learn more about local birdlife and discover the different marine habitats. All activities will be led by a guest speaker from the Gould League.
While attendance is flexible, we ask that you book in advance to assist us with catering.
