Im-peck-able photos of a thriving Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve

The beautiful reserve is bursting with ecological activity.

Autumn is in the air and the wonderful natural oasis is attracting abundant native wildlife with its indigenous plant species, chain of ponds and large billabong.

Bird watching

Local photographers Danny and Marcus have captured a range of stunning water birds living their best life.

Pink-eared ducks, buff-banded rails, white neck herons and a magpie goose chilling on his perch, are just a few of the many waterbirds, fish, reptiles, turtles, invertebrates and bats who spend their days foraging and breeding in the park 🐦🐸

As you walk along the paths and stepping stones in Yalukit Willam Nature Reserve, look for the wildlife, listen out for the frogs and birds and enjoy the rare beauty of the indigenous flora 🌿

This park is – as it has been for thousands of years - the land of Kulin Nations people.
