Events galore at Seniors Festival this week

The fun and festivities continue with the Bayside Healthy Ageing Seniors Festival promoting many events in its final few weeks!

Take an overseas adventure with local celebrity explorer Annie Inglis as she guides you through the remote Galapagos archipelago from the safety of the Sandybeach Centre.

Book for your free ticket for the October 20 event, which kicks off at 1:00pm.

Want to enjoy a night at the theatre? Head to Hampton on October 20 at 6:30pm for Enough is Enough: Anti-Gambling, a brilliant play delving into the lives of those affected by gambling addiction.

Celebrate International Repair Day on October 21 by learning skills such as darning, patching and restitching garments at the Make, Do and Mend Together event at Sandringham Library. There are two sessions at 10:00am or 11:00am.

In one of our popular events, the Advantage Road Open Studios will be open in Highett on Sunday 22 October. Visit over 15 studios and enjoy fascinating demonstrations by painters, printmakers, textile artists, ceramicists, sculptors and more. It’s free and no booking is needed.

If art is your thing, then Wednesday 25 October has two superb events for you to enjoy. The Brighton Art Society is hosting an Introduction to Acrylic Painting, or you can enjoy a Connecting with Craft session with the Country Women’s Association of Victoria at the Hampton Seniors Centre.

Visit our Love Bayside information session to discover how to develop your Go Electric house plan and learn how Council can assist you in installing electric appliances at affordable rates. The Thursday October 24 event starts at 10:30am.

If you’re looking for new exercise activities, chat with Sandringham Life Activities Club over morning tea on Friday 27 October to learn about 20 different social and recreational activities and special events on offer.

The theme of our 2023 event is Learn. Love. Live, and we encourage you to embrace the opportunity to have some fun, connect with the community and discover new passions.
