About us: R.A.W Australia is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving our diverse community by promoting values of connection, creativity, and celebration. We primarily work with women from multicultural backgrounds, offering various programs and activities aimed at fostering community engagement, sustainability, and wellness. Our initiatives include managing an Urban Farm, a Sensory Garden, and a Pavilion, as well as organizing educational sessions on topics such as sustainability, gardening, food freedom, wellness, and multicultural exchange.


Overview: We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to join our team. The Volunteer Coordinator will play a key role in recruiting, training, and managing volunteers to support our various programs and initiatives. This individual will work closely with staff members and volunteers to ensure smooth coordination and execution of events, activities, and projects.


Responsibilities: 

  • Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers to support the organization's programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments, ensuring adequate coverage for events and activities
  • Provide ongoing support, guidance, and supervision to volunteers, fostering a positive and rewarding volunteer experience
  • Maintain volunteer records, including contact information, hours worked, and volunteer interests
  • Collaborate with staff members to identify volunteer needs and develop strategies for recruitment and retention
  • Organise volunteer appreciation events and recognition programs to acknowledge the contributions of volunteers
  • Assist with the planning and execution of events, workshops, and educational sessions, as needed
  • Serve as a liaison between volunteers and staff members, facilitating communication and feedback
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, respect, and collaboration among volunteers and staff members

 

Qualifications:

  • Passion for community engagement and volunteerism
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of or interest in topics related to sustainability, gardening, wellness, and multicultural exchange is desirable
  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination or related fields is an asset
