Too close for comfort: the art of the domestic thriller with Sally Hepworth & Anna George

We're thrilled to partner with Sisters in Crime to put together some killer library events.

Join us as two top Bayside authors, Sally Hepworth and Anna George, discuss how they dig deep to expose the drama, disputes and violence that can rip family relations and home life apart.

Sally Hepworth is the New York Times bestselling author of seven novels, most recently 'The Younger Wife'.

Her novel, 'The Mother-In-Law' (2019), has been optioned for a TV series by Hollywood actress and producer, Amy Poehler.

'The Good Sister' won Sisters in Crime’s Davitt Award for Best Adult Novel in 2021. Her next novel, 'The Soulmate', is out in October.

Drawing on the good, the bad and the downright odd of human behaviour, Sally writes incisively about family, relationships and identity. Her domestic thriller novels are laced with quirky humour, sass and a darkly charming tone.

Anna George’s debut thriller, 'What Came Before', about the risks you take when you fall in love, was shortlisted for the 2015 Ned Kelly and Sisters in Crime Best Debut Fiction awards, and longlisted for the 2016 International Dublin Literary Award.

She has since written 'The Lone Child' – how much should you do to help a stranger’s child – and 'The Tipping Point', about a grammar school Instagram scandal that sparks outrage in a bayside suburb, confronting the families involved.
