Recycling collection

Household recycling is removed fortnightly, using a 240 litre blue wheelie bin.

See the area map below to check when your household recycling will be collected.

The following items belong in the recycling bin

  • aluminium and steel cans:
  • drink cans
  • steel food cans
  • empty aerosol cans 
  • clean foil trays 
  • glass bottles and jars (remove lids)
  • milk and juice cartons (rinse and flatten)
  • paper and cardboard: 
  • newspaper
  • magazines
  • junk mail
  • cardboard packaging (flatten cardboard boxes)
  • office paper
  • envelopes
  • telephone books 
  • wrapping paper
  • plastic bottles:
  • soft drink
  • milk
  • juice
  • detergent and shampoo bottles (remove lids)

Do not place the following materials in your recycling bin

  • ceramics, crockery
  • drinking glasses
  • food scraps or garden wast
  • polystyrene
  • plastic shopping bags
  • plastic wrap 
  • plastic motor oil container
  • waxed cardboard (e.g. waxed fruit boxes)
  • window glass, light globes
