Friends of Bayside groups
Friends Groups and Volunteering
Bayside is home to a rich and diverse range of environments from a dynamic coastline of exposed cliffs, sand dunes and reef platforms to inland pockets of rare sand belt vegetation, known as the Sandringham Heath. The Friends of Bayside are enthusiastic ambassadors who work with Bayside City Council to protect and enhance this natural environment.
What do the Friends do?
Friends meet regularly for working bees in Bayside’s bushlands and coastal reserves. Activities vary throughout the year and can include wildlife surveys, planting and holding community events. Each group works according to an action plan, which sets out clear goals to help improve the health of Bayside’s natural reserves.
Volunteering with a Friends group is a great opportunity for people of all ages to get involved in nature conservation.
How can I get involved?
Volunteers are welcome to come to a working bee. Dates for working bees are published in the Banksia Bulletin
