Sale of tobacco

Tobacco reforms affect businesses that sell tobacco, restaurants and cafes, pubs and clubs, shopping centres and gaming venues.

Environmental Health Services and the Department of Human Services are responsible for enforcing the Tobacco Act.

Environmental Health Officers conduct education visits to tobacco retailers, restaurants and cafe's, licensed clubs and gaming venues to promote an understanding of the tobacco laws.

These include:

  • smoke free dining
  • product display and promotion
  • sale of tobacco to people under 18 years of age

For further information on tobacco reforms, visit the Victorian Government Health Information website.
